Remote Keyless Entry System
The remote keyless entry system consists of 4 main components: a Remote Keyless Entry Module (RKEM), located in the trunk; a keypad, located on the driver's door; an antenna, located in the wiring harness; and a remote transmitter. An alternative entry code can be programmed into the RKEM. The RKEM performs the following functions:
- Unlocks and locks doors, unlocks trunk.
- Arms and disarms the anti-theft system, if equipped.
- Turns on interior, keyhole, and keypad lights.
- Activates and deactivates anti-theft horns, and flashes parking lights.
- Activates battery saver, which removes power from courtesy lights 45 minutes after the last input to the control module.
- Stores temporary alternative entry code.
