Electronic Door Lock Control System
The keyless entry system consists of the following components:
- Door lock touchpad
- Electronic door lock control processor
- Keyless entry beeper
- Timer module
- Center green diode strip
- RH circuit breaker
- Body side door power door lock actuator
- Ignition key reminder switch
- Left and right power door lock actuators
- Left and right door lock switches
- Liftgate power lock actuator
- Left and right door courtesy lamp switches
- Body side door courtesy lamp switch
- Luggage compartment lamp switch
The door lock touchpad is located on the outer panel of the left hand front door. It is used to input the codes to the electronic door lock control processor. The electronic door lock control processor is located behind the control console, below and to the left of the anti-lock brake control module. The electronic door lock control processor is a microcomputer programmed to control the functions of the electronic door lock control system. It receives and sends signals between the various sensors and components.
The electronic door lock control processor performs the following functions:
- Unlocks the left hand front door
- Unlocks the right hand front door
- Unlocks the body side door
- Unlocks the liftgate
- Locks all the doors
- Illuminates the door lock touchpad after any door lock touchpad button is depressed
The electronic door lock control processor will also accept and store an owner's personal entry code. This is the only code that will operate the electronic door lock control system. The keyless entry beeper is located behind the left hand front door trim panel. The keyless entry beeper performs two functions:
- Acts as a warning beeper if the 7/8 and 9/0 door lock touchpad buttons are pressed simultaneously while the key is in the ignition switch.
- Alerts the operator of the five-second time limit in programming a personal code number once the permanent entry code number is entered.
The timer module is located behind the left hand cowl side trim panel. The timer module activates the interior lamps once a door is opened. The center green diode strip is on the diode junction box located behind the instrument cluster. The diode strip limits or directs the current through the various circuits in the electronic door lock control and other vehicle systems. The RH circuit breaker is located behind the left hand cowl side trim panel. It is a thermal circuit breaker, breaking the current if the circuit is too hot.
