Distributor Ignition (Di)

The DI system uses a power transistor, Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor and the PCM to regulate ignition timing. The CMP sensor is mounted in the distributor and sends a signal to the PCM.

The CMP signal is used to control fuel injection timing, detection of cylinder position, ignition timing, Idle Air Control (IAC) operation and engine speed detection when the engine is running (except during starting).
