Test B: Driver's Power Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's 7-pin power window control switch harness connector C74. Test driver's power window control switch. See POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCHES  under COMPONENT TESTS. If driver's power window control switch is okay, go to next step. If driver's power window control switch is defective, replace driver's power window control switch.
  2. Disconnect 5-pin one-touch down relay harness connector located in driver's door. Measure resistance in Yellow/Green wire between driver's power window control switch harness connector C74 terminal No. 7 and one-touch down relay harness connector terminal No. 3. See Figure and Fig 1 . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and one-touch down relay harness connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Green wire). Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms. If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If any resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Yellow/Green wire between driver's power window control switch and one-touch down relay.
  3. Measure resistance between one-touch down relay (component side) terminals No. 3 and No. 5. See Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace one-touch down relay.
  4. Disconnect driver's 2-pin power window motor harness connector. Measure resistance in Yellow wire between driver's power window motor harness connector and one-touch down relay harness connector terminal No. 5. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and one-touch down relay harness connector terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire). Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms. If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If any resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Yellow wire between driver's power window motor and one-touch down relay.
  5. Connect driver's power window control switch harness connector C74. Measure resistance between ground and driver's power window motor harness connector (White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace driver's power window motor. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White wire between driver's power window motor and driver's power window control switch.
