Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove Throttle Position (TP) sensor connectors. Remove screws and remove TP sensor. Install NEW TP sensor and leave TP sensor bolts finger tight. At this point TP sensor must be adjusted. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on.
- Using scan tool, select appropriate year, vehicle, and mode. Measure TP sensor voltage with throttle valve completely closed. Adjust TP sensor until voltage reading on scan tool is .3-.7 volts. Tighten TP sensor bolts. Using scan tool, ensure idle position switch PID reads ON. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off.
- Turn ignition on for 5 seconds and then off for 5 seconds. Repeat this step 20 times. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten TP sensor bolts. TP sensor bolt torque specification is not available from manufacturer.
NOTE:
TP sensor adjustment is necessary at time of installation.
