Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the lower instrument panel steering column cover. Remove the bulkhead electrical harness connectors (C270a and C270b) from the central junction box (interior fuse panel).
  2. Unbolt and remove the central junction box. Disconnect the GEM electrical harness connectors. Remove screws and disconnect the GEM from the backside of the central junction box. To install, reverse removal procedure.
