Removal & Installation: Notes

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
  2. Remove the front axle halfshafts. For additional information, refer to FRONT AXLE HALFSHAFTS, BEARINGS AND SEALS .
  3. Remove the front driveshaft. For additional information, refer to FRONT DRIVESHAFT .
  4. Position a suitable hydraulic jack under the front axle. Securely strap the jack to the axle.
  5. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  7. Refill the axle with the specified quantity of the specified lubricant.
