Steering Column: Assembly

  1. Install steering shaft in steering column and install snap ring. Install and tighten column tube bracket shear bolt until head snaps off.
  2. Fill bearing with grease and install in end of steering column. Ensure bearing is fully seated. Align steering lock with column boss. Use ignition key to check for proper lock function. Tighten lock retaining screw.
NOTE: Steering lock retaining screws are special 1-way design.
