EGR Control Solenoid Valve (Starion)

  1. Start engine and run at idle until normal operating temperature is obtained. Disconnect Green striped hose from fuel injection mixer and connect vacuum pump to hose.
  2. Separate electrical connector from solenoid valve and apply 9.8 in. Hg vacuum to Green striped hose. If idle becomes unstable or engine stalls, EGR system is operating properly.
  3. Reconnect electrical connector and repeat step 2). Engine idle should not be affected. If idle becomes unstable or engine stalls, solenoid valve is remaining closed. Replace solenoid valve.
