Clutch Assembly: Inspection
- Check release bearing for seizure, damage or abnormal noise. Replace bearing if contact surface area of release fork shows signs of wear. Replace release fork if worn. DO NOT clean bearing assembly in solvent.
- Inspect outer casing of clutch cable for damage and cable for signs of fraying. Check cable for rough movement. Replace if necessary. Inspect hydraulic system components for fluid leakage and cylinder dust boot for cracks or deterioration.
- Inspect pressure plate surface for wear, cracks, and/or discoloration. Check strap plate rivets for looseness and replace assembly if loose. Measure diaphragm spring ends for wear and uneven height. Replace assembly if difference between fingers exceed specifications. See SPRING FINGER HEIGHT

Application In. (mm) Maximum Difference .02 (.5) - Check clutch disc facing for loose rivets, uneven contact, deterioration, seizure and adhesion of grease or oil. Measure disc thickness or rivet sink limit (if necessary). Replace disc if not within specifications. See CLUTCH DISC THICKNESS SPECIFICATIONS .
