Steering Column: Reassembly

  1. Install steering shaft in steering column. Install snap ring. Install and tighten column tube bracket shear bolt until head snaps off.
  2. Fill bearing with grease. Install bearing in end of steering column. Ensure bearing is fully seated. Align steering lock with column boss. Ensure that steering lock is operational before tightening lock retaining screw.
NOTE: Steering lock retaining screws are special one-way design.
