Removal And Installation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
  • When the engine assembly is replaced, initialize the learned value using scan tool. (Refer to INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE OF MFI ENGINE LEARNED VALUE )
  • Before replacing the steering wheel assembly and driver's air bag module assembly, always refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS , and AIR BAG MODULE(S) AND CLOCK SPRING . Also, position the front wheels in a straight ahead direction, and remove the ignition key. If you fail to do this, clock spring for SRS may get damage, making the SRS (air bag) inoperative, and it may cause a serious injury to the driver.
  • After adjusting the wheel alignment, always perform calibration to make the ASC-ECU learn the neutral position of the steering wheel sensor. (Refer to STEERING WHEEL SENSOR CALIBRATION )
