Throttle Position Sensor

  1. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector. Check resistance across terminals No. 1 and 2. Total resistance should measure 3.5 to 6.5 ohms.
  2. Attach circuit tester to terminal No. 3 and terminals No. 1 and 2 individually. See Figure . As the throttle valve is slowly operated from closed to wide open throttle, watch meter. Ohmmeter should show a smooth transition of resistance value.
