Throttle Position Sensor
- Disconnect carburetor connector. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (power) and No. 8 (ground) on Montero and Pickup. Measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and 2 on Cordia and Tredia. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 3 on all other models. See Fig 1
. Standard resistance is 3500-6500 ohms.
- Connect ohmmeter between terminals No. 2 (output) and No. 8 on Montero and Pickup. Connect ohmmeter between terminals No. 3 and No. 2 on all other models. Operate throttle valve slowly from idle to full open position. Resistance should change smoothly in proportion to throttle valve opening, from 500 ohms to 3500-6500 ohms.
