Continuity Check

  1. On all models equipped with a wiper relay except Conquest, remove the relay from the wiper motor bracket. Ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2-5. SeeFig 1 .

  2. On Conquest and Starion, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2-5 and 1-3 when no voltage is applied to relay. Apply positive battery voltage to relay terminal No. 2 and negative voltage to relay terminal No. 5. Continuity should be present between terminals No. 3-6.
  3. On Galant, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2-3 and 6-8 when positive battery voltage is applied to terminal No. 5 and negative voltage is applied to terminal No. 4. With battery voltage applied to terminals No. 5-7, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 1-2 and 6-9. Ensure battery voltage is not applied longer than one minute to relay.
