Steering Column - Precis: Reassembly

  1. Install steering shaft in steering column. Install snap ring. Install and tighten column tube bracket bolt until bolt head breaks off.
  2. Fill bearing with grease. Install bearing in end of steering column. Ensure bearing is fully seated. Align steering lock with column boss. Ensure steering lock is operational before tightening lock retaining screw.
NOTE: Special one-way design lock retaining screws are used.
