Front Wiper Relay Continuity Check
- On all models equipped with an external front wiper relay except Galant and Sigma, remove the relay from the wiper motor bracket. On Montero, relay is located behind driver's kick panel. Ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2 and 5. See Fig 1
.
- On Galant, relay is located next to wiper motor, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 3 and 6 when battery voltage is applied to terminal No. 5 and ground is applied to terminal No. 2. Ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2 and 5, and 1 and 3 when battery voltage is not applied. See Fig 1
.
- On Sigma, relay is located on left firewall, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 2 and 5, and 3 and 4 when battery voltage is applied to terminal No. 6 and ground is applied to terminal No. 7. With battery voltage applied to terminals No. 7 and 8, ensure continuity is present between terminals No. 1 and 5, and 3 and 9. Ensure battery voltage is not applied longer than one minute to relay.
