Sensor-To-Rotor Gap Adjustment

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove tire and wheel assembly. Inspect sensor pole piece for signs of damage, and replace as necessary. If sensor pole piece is okay, check wheel speed sensor-to-rotor gap. Using a feeler gauge, check clearance between the speed sensor pole and the rotor tooth surface. See Fig 1 . Refer to the WHEEL SPEED SENSOR-TO-ROTOR GAP SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. If clearance is not within specification, loosen sensor mounting bolt. Adjust sensor position until clearance is within specification. Tighten sensor mounting bolt. Install tire and wheel assembly. Lower vehicle.
