Throttle Position Sensor (3.0L)

  1. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector. Check resistance between terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Green/Yellow wire). Resistance should be 3500-6500 ohms. See Fig 2 .
  2. Using a analog ohmmeter, measure between terminals No. 2 and 4. Operate throttle valve from closed to wide open throttle. Ensure resistance changes smoothly throughout entire range. Resistance should change from 500 ohms to approximately 3500-6500 ohms. If not within specification, replace TPS.
