All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Models

  1. Remove "G" force sensor. See "G" FORCE SENSOR (AWD)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Place sensor on level surface. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between sensor terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sensor.
  2. Check for continuity between sensor terminals while slowly tilting sensor in direction of forward vehicle travel. See Fig 1. No continuity should exist when sensor angle is 30 degrees or greater. If no continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
  3. Check for continuity between sensor terminals while slowly tilting sensor in direction of reverse vehicle travel. See Fig 1. No continuity should exist when sensor angle is 30 degrees or greater. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
