Intermittent Switch Input Circuit

  1. Disconnect ETACS control unit. With intermittent (wiper) switch in FAST position, check resistance between control unit harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. See Figure -Figure . Resistance should be zero (0) ohms.
  2. Rotate intermittent switch to SLOW position while measuring resistance at terminal No. 1. Resistance should gradually increase to 1000 ohms as switch position changes. If resistance is not as indicated, check circuit and/or intermittent switch. To check intermittent switch, See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT Section.
