System Operation Inspection

NOTE: This test can be performed with a dynamometer or supporting vehicle on appropriate lift.
CAUTION: Inspection must be completed within 20 seconds after pressing accelerator pedal or TCL system will stop functioning (fail-safe).
  1. Start and idle vehicle. Press TCL mode switch to ON position. Place front wheels on dynamometer rollers (if available). Ensure all safety procedures are followed when using dynamometer.
  2. If dynamometer is not available, lift and support vehicle. Place shift selector in drive ("D"). When depressing accelerator pedal, determine if engine RPM is suppressed.
  3. If TCL indicator light illuminates and engine speed is suppressed, system is functioning properly. If system operation is not as specified, see TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. To turn off TRACE control only, lightly press TCL mode switch off, with TCL system already on. To turn off traction control, press TCL mode switch off once more.
