Stoplight Switch Circuit (AWD)
- Check if stoplights are functioning correctly. If stoplights function correctly, go to next step. If stoplights do not function correctly, check stoplight circuit and repair as necessary.
- Disconnect ECU wiring harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between terminal No. 29 (Green wire) and ground while depressing brake pedal. See Figure . If battery voltage is not present, repair or replace wiring harness between stoplight switch and ECU. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Remove right quarter panel trim in front of wheelwell. Disconnect resistor connector (next to harness ground connection). Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between resistor harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair harness between stoplight switch and resistor.
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of resistor. If resistance is 780-860 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 780-860 ohms, replace resistor.
- Check for continuity to ground at resistor harness connector terminal No. 2. If continuity is present, replace ECU. If continuity is not present, repair harness.
