Code 22: Abs (Abs Fail) Signal Open Circuit Or Abs Failure
NOTE:
With ignition switch in ON position, Code 22 is output when TCL OFF indicator light is on while ABS ECU is operating and ABS warning light is on.
- Start and run engine. If ABS warning light is on, further diagnostic testing of ABS system is required. See the appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM article in the BRAKES section. If ABS light is off, turn ignition off. Disconnect TCL module harness connector. See Figure . Disconnect ABS ECU harness connector. See Figure .
- Using ohmmeter, check continuity between TCL module harness connector terminal No. 60 and ABS ECU harness connector terminal No. 51. See Figure and Fig 1 .
- If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If continuity exists, check for continuity between circuit and vehicle ground. If continuity exists, inspect and repair circuit for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, replace TCL module. See TCL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
