Code 35: Steering Wheel Sensor St-N Failure

  1. Clear trouble codes. See CLEARING CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Test drive vehicle. Retrieve codes. If Code 34 is not output, replace steering wheel sensor. See STEERING WHEEL SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If Code 34 is not output on vehicles with Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS), inspect and repair circuits between ECS control unit and steering wheel sensor. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If circuits are okay, replace ECS control unit and retest. See Figure .
  2. If Code 34 is not output on vehicles without ECS, inspect and repair circuits between TCL module and steering wheel sensor. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If circuits are okay, replace TCL module and retest. See Figure .
