System Input Tests

  1. System input tests should be performed if no trouble codes are stored when performing SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
  2. System input tests cycle each cruise control switch and sensor. Use analog voltmeter or Scan Tester (MB991341) for system input check. Connect leads of analog voltmeter or scan tester to DLC. See Figure .
  3. Turn ignition on. Move set switch to ON position. Turn main cruise control switch to ON position. Within one second, turn resume switch to ON position.
NOTE: Cruise control system cannot be set during input test.
  4. Perform each input operation according to INPUT CODE CHART and read codes. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . Each code will be displayed in order of priority starting with No. 1. If no display is present, a malfunction may exist in the cruise control unit power supply circuit or the set and/or resume switch. Check for malfunction according to TEST 1  or TEST 2  under CIRCUIT TESTS.
