Code P1500: Generator Fr Terminal Circuit Fault

NOTE: For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section.
  1. With generator field connector connected. Measure voltage between field connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire) and ground. Start engine. Ensure radiator fan is off. Voltage should be 1.8-2.4 volts (headlights off) and 1.0-1.6 volts (headlights on). If voltage is not within specification, go to next step. If voltage is within specification, replace PCM.
  2. Disconnect generator field connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between field connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, check field connector, and wiring harness between PCM and field connector. If connector and wiring is okay, replace generator.
  3. If battery voltage does not exist, check PCM connector, junction connector and wiring harness between PCM and field connector. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace PCM.
