Code 11: Generator Field Not Switching Properly

NOTE: For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section.

Using MUT II scan tool, perform ACTUATOR TEST No. 10 (MFI relay). If MFI relay operation can be heard, go to next step. If MFI relay operation cannot be heard, repair MFI relay circuit.
Disconnect generator field coil connector. Check continuity between terminal No. 2 of generator and generator housing. If continuity exists, repair or replace generator. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
Check PCM connector, wiring harness and junction connector between generator and PCM. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace PCM.
