Interior Light Test 2A - Courtesy Light Inoperative With Any Door

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy light. If courtesy light comes on, go to step 6). If courtesy light does not come on, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, stop courtesy light actuation. Locate junction block 6-pin connector below horn relay. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe junction block 6-pin connector terminal No. 6 (Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace junction block.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe and check voltage on junction block 6-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2B. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect dome light 3-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Inspect dome light bulb. If dome light bulb is okay, go to next step. If dome light bulb is not okay, replace bulb.
  5. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on dome light 3-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow wire.
  6. Using scan tool, stop courtesy light actuation. Open left front door. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 3A  .
