Windshield Wiper Test 4A - Wipers Not Working In Low Speed Mode

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Dodge Stratus and 1995 Chrysler Cirrus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate wiper motor in low speed. If wiper motor does not operate in low speed mode, go to next step. If wiper motor operates is low speed, go to step 4).
  2. Disconnect HI/LO wiper relay and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Connect a jumper wire between HI/LO wiper relay cavity No. 10 (Dark Blue/Gray wire) and cavity No. 11 (Brown/Orange wire). See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A  . If wiper motor does not operate in low speed, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If wiper motor operates in low speed, replace HI/LO wiper relay.
  3. Disconnect wiper motor Light Gray 4-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on wiper motor 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Brown/Orange wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace wiper motor. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Brown/Orange wire.
  4. Using scan tool, stop wiper motor actuation. Using scan tool, read intermittent wipe sensor. While observing scan tool display, move wiper switch to low speed position. If scan tool displays an intermittent wiper voltage more than 8 volts, replace BCM. If scan tool displays a voltage less than 8 volts, replace multifunction switch.
