Test 38B - Shorted Courtesy Lamp Switch Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
  1. Disconnect headlamp switch 8-pin connector. Using scan tool, read courtesy lamp switch status. If scan tool does not display COURTESY SWITCH CLOSED, replace courtesy lamp dash switch. If scan tool displays COURTESY SWITCH CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Gray connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on BCM Gray connector terminal No. 11 (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
