Test 72A - Open Seat Belt Switch Circuit

- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
- Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect left front seat belt switch connector. Connector is located on left side door pillar, just behind seat. Connect jumper wire between seat belt switch connector terminals No. 1 (Light Green/Red wire) and No. 2 (Black wire). Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace left front seat belt switch. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and seat belt switch connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green/Red wire). If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
- Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. With BCM connectors connected, connect jumper wire between chassis ground and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green/Red wire). If scan tool displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, repair open Light Green/Red wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace BCM.
