Description & Operation
Power-assisted rack and pinion steering system consists of a vane pump, flow control valve and an oil reservoir. Belt-driven vane pump supplies fluid through hoses to flow control valve. Flow control valve regulates fluid pressure to assist rack and pinion steering gear. See Fig 1 .
