"G" Force Sensor

NOTE: "G" force sensor component test applies to vehicles equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) only.
  1. Disconnect "G" sensor connector. Sensor is located on bracket under center console. Connect Special Tool (MB991348) between sensor and connector. Using a DVOM, check voltage between specified sensor terminals. Check voltage between terminals No. 3 (Blue/Black wire) and No. 4 (Black/White wire). Voltage should be 2.3-2.7 volts. If voltage is not as specified, replace "G" sensor. If voltage is not as specified, leave special tool and DVOM connected and go to next step.
  2. Note top center position of sensor, and remove sensor. See "G" FORCE SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Secure sensor so that arrow on sensor is facing straight down. Voltage should be 3.1-3.9 volts. If voltage is not specified, repair wiring harness as necessary. If harness is okay, replace sensor.
