DTC 101 - Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit
NOTE:
For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
section.
- Remove fuel pump relay. Check resistance between relay terminals No. 4 and 6. Resistance should be 35-75 ohms. Replace fuel pump relay if continuity is not as specified.
- Connect 12-volt power source between relay terminals No. 4 and 6. Connect positive lead to terminal No. 6. With relay energized, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 8. With power source removed, continuity should not exist. Replace MFI relay if any measurements are not as specified.
- Turn ignition on. Check voltage between fuel pump relay connector terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, check PCM connector and wiring harness between fuel pump relay connector and PCM. If wiring connector is okay, replace PCM. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring harness and junction connectors between fuel pump relay connector and ignition switch.
