DTC 96 - No CCD Messages From Transaxle Control Module (TCM)

NOTE: For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section.
  1. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communications with TCM. If scan tool communicates with TCM, check PCM connector. If PCM connector is okay, replace PCM. If scan tool does not communicate with TCM, turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector and attempt to establish communications with TCM again.
  2. If scan tool communicates with TCM, check PCM connector. If PCM connector is okay, replace PCM. If scan tool does not communicate with TCM, turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 7 and ground and between terminal No. 8 and ground. Voltage should be 1.5-3.5 volts.
  3. Turn ignition off. Check resistance between DLC terminals No. 7 and 8. Resistance should be 110-130 ohms. If voltage and resistance are as specified, go to next step. If voltage or resistance is not as specified, check TCM connector and wiring harness between PCM and TCM. If wiring connector is okay, replace TCM.
  4. Connect PCM connector, disconnect TCM connector. Check resistance between DLC terminals No. 7 and 8. If resistance is 110-130 ohms, check PCM and TCM connectors. If connectors are okay, replace PCM. If DTC resets, replace TCM. If resistance is not as specified, check PCM connector. If PCM connector is okay, replace PCM.
