Interior Light Test 4A - Courtesy Light Inoperative With Dome Light Switch
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Dodge Stratus and 1995 Chrysler Cirrus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding. Locate junction block 6-pin connector below horn relay. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using a jumper wire, backprobe junction block 6-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire) to ground. If dome light does not come on, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If dome light comes on, replace junction block.
- Disconnect dome light 3-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of dome light 3-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace dome light assembly. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire.
