Test 58A - Identifying Warning Lamp Problems

NOTE:
Oil pressure warning lamp and brake warning lamp cannot be actuated using scan tool.
NOTE:
When actuating problem lamp, if scan tool displays NO RESPONSE FROM AIR BAG MODULE, see AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Using scan tool, actuate each instrument cluster warning lamp. If warning lamps turn on then off, actuator test passes. Go to next step. If actuator test fails, go to TEST 58B.
- Stop actuation test. Identify faulty lamp. Perform appropriate test listed in DIAGNOSING WARNING LAMP PROBLEMS table. If no warning lamp problems exist, system is operating properly at this time.
