Anti-Lock Brake System: Operation: Notes

The RWAL ECU continuously monitors brakelight switch input, as well as Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and "G" sensor input signals, to determine control of the modulator valve and ANTI-LOCK warning light.

If RWAL ECU detects a malfunction in the RWAL system, RWAL ECU will turn on ANTI-LOCK warning light by providing a ground circuit through RWAL ECU terminal No. 8. When a DTC is stored and ANTI-LOCK warning light is illuminated, RWAL ECU will disable anti-lock function. During this time, system will function as a normal hydraulic brake system. When system returns to normal, RWAL ECU will enable anti-lock function.
