DTC 101 - Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit

NOTE: For terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS section. For circuit and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.0L - NON-TURBO article.
  1. Remove fuel pump relay. Check resistance between relay terminals No. 4 and 6. Resistance should be 35-75 ohms. Replace fuel pump relay if continuity is not as specified.
  2. Connect 12-volt power source between relay terminals No. 4 and 6. Connect positive lead to terminal No. 6. With relay energized, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 8. With power source removed, continuity should not exist. Replace ASD relay if any measurements are not as specified.
  3. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between ground and fuel pump relay connector terminal No. 6. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check wiring harness and junction connectors between fuel pump relay connector and ignition switch.
  4. Check PCM connectors and wiring harness between fuel pump relay connector and PCM. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace PCM.
