Shift Lock System

  1. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Release brake pedal and push gearshift lever button. Ensure gearshift lever cannot be moved from "P" position. With ignition switch in ACC position, depress brake pedal and push gearshift lever button. Ensure gearshift lever can be moved from "P" position.
  2. With gearshift lever in "R" position and ignition switch in ACC position, release brake pedal and push gearshift lever button. Ensure gearshift lever can be moved from "R" position to "P" position. If shift lock system operation is not as specified, adjust shift lock cable. See SHIFT LOCK CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
