Test E-3: Keyless Entry Encrypted Code Cannot Be Registered

  1. If encrypted code register mode is not set, go to next step. If encrypted code mode is set and transmitter cannot be registered, to step  3 .
  2. Check input signals for:
    • Key reminder switch.
    • Hazard warning light switch.
    See appropriate tests in INPUT SIGNAL CHECK FUNCTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If input signal test shows a fault, repair indicated circuit. If input signal test is okay, replace ETACS-ECU. After repair, check that transmitter can be registered.
  3. Replace transmitter battery and check if transmitter can be registered. If transmitter cannot be registered, replace transmitter and check if transmitter can be registered. If transmitter cannot be registered, replace ETACS-ECU.
