Test O-5: FOGLIGHT Switch Circuit Check

  1. Remove foglight switch. Check continuity between foglight switch connector terminals No. 6 and 7 (component side). See Fig 1 . When foglight switch is pressed, continuity should exist. When foglight switch is released, continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace foglight switch.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and foglight connector terminal No. 7 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step  4 . If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Check foglight switch connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Check for open in Black wire between foglight switch and ground. Ground is located behind center of instrument panel on center reinforcement. Repair connector or Black wire as necessary and retest system.
  4. Check foglight switch connector and ETACS-ECU 16-pin connector C-111 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. Check for open or short in Light Blue wire between ETACS-ECU connector C-111 terminal No. 45 and foglight switch connector terminal No. 6. See Figure . If problem exists, repair connector or Light Blue wire as necessary and retest system. If problem does not exist, replace ETACS-ECU and retest system.
