Test N-4: Anti-Theft System Panic Alarm Function Inoperative

  1. Check keyless entry system operation. If keyless entry system operates normally, go to next step. If keyless entry system does not operate normally, diagnose keyless entry concern. See SYMPTOM TEST INDEX  table.
  2. Check input signal from transmitter PANIC switch. See INPUT SIGNAL CHECK FUNCTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If input signal test shows a fault, check transmitter input signal circuit. See TEST O-21: TRANSMITTER OR ETACS-ECU RECEIVER CHECK  under CIRCUIT TESTS. If input signal test is okay, replace ETACS-ECU and retest panic alarm function.
