Section 11 (Engine Controls - System & Component Testing): Introduction

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2002 Mitsubishi Montero, 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage, 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Testing individual components does not isolate shorts or opens. Perform all voltage tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.

Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored components set a diagnostic trouble code if they malfunction, also perform procedures in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.
