PCV Valve

  1. Remove PCV valve and gently shake valve. Valve should rattle if moving freely.
  2. Hold PCV valve with vacuum side down. Insert thin rod in top. Using light pressure, depress end of PCV valve spring .2-.3" (5-10 mm). Release pressure on rod. PCV valve spring should quickly lift rod to its original position.
  3. Connect PCV valve to vacuum hose, and start engine. Ensure vacuum is flowing through valve. Clean or replace PCV valve as necessary.
