DTC Set Criteria

DTC P0442 will set under the following conditions: For monitor to run, engine coolant temperature and intake air temperature are each 91°F (33°C) or less when engine starts. Less than 16 minutes have passed since engine started. Engine coolant temperature is 140°F (60°C) or more. Engine speed is 1600 RPM or more. Power steering pressure switch is off. Barometric pressure is 11 psi (76 kPa) or higher. Volumetric efficiency is between 20-70 percent. Vehicle speed is 13 MPH or more. Monitor will stop if air temperature is less than 14°F (10°C), fuel tank pressure increase when purge solenoid and ventilation solenoid are closed is less than .065 psi (.451 kPa), or fuel tank pressure out put voltage is one volt to 4 volts. Monitor runs 75-125 seconds. Code will set when internal pressure of fuel tank has changed more than .114 psi (.785 kPa) in 20 seconds after tank and vapor line are closed and purge solenoid is driven.
