Visual Inspection

Most driveability problems in the engine control system result from faulty wiring, corroded, bent, loose or damaged electrical connections, or leaking air and vacuum hose connections. Before beginning any self-diagnostic tests, to avoid unnecessary component testing, perform a visual inspection of battery, ECM, sensors and input-output devices. Attention should be given to condition of electrical connectors and terminals.
