No Communication With Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module: Testing

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check ECM harness connector C-62 or PCM harness connector C-59 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair it.
  2. Check ECM harness connector C-62 or PCM harness connector C-59 for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem exists, repair it. If problem does not exist, check for open or short to ground in circuit between DLC terminal No. 7 and ECM harness connector C-62 terminal No. 85 or PCM harness connector C-59 terminal No. 85. If problem exists, repair circuit between DLC terminal No. 7 and ECM harness connector C-62 terminal No. 85 or PCM harness connector C-59 terminal No. 85 as necessary. If problem does not exist, repair circuit to power supply as necessary.
