Diamante (W/O Traction Control)
- If using scan tool, connect scan tool to OBD-II Data Link Connector (OBD-II DLC). If not using scan tool, disconnect TP sensor 4-pin connector. Connect DVOM (ohmmeter) leads to TP sensor terminals No. 2 (closed throttle position switch) and No. 1 (sensor ground). See Figure. Go to next step.
- Insert feeler gauge with thickness of .055" (1.4 mm) no more than .118" (3 mm) deep between levers shown in illustration. See Fig 1. If using scan tool, go to next step. If using ohmmeter, go to step 6.
- Turn ignition on. Loosen throttle position sensor mounting bolt. Turn TP sensor body fully counterclockwise, and monitor closed throttle switch on/off status. Scan tool should indicate closed throttle position switch is on.
- Slowly turn TP sensor body clockwise until point at which scan tool indicates closed throttle position switch is off. Hold TP sensor in this position and tighten mounting bolt. Go to next step.
- Check TP sensor output voltage. TP sensor output voltage should be 400-1000 millivolts. If TP sensor output voltage is not as specified, check TP sensor and related circuit. If TP sensor output voltage is as specified, remove feeler gauge and turn ignition off.
- Leave ignition off and monitor closed throttle switch continuity. Loosen throttle position sensor mounting bolt. Turn TP sensor body fully counterclockwise. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity. Go to next step.
- Slowly turn TP sensor body clockwise until point at which ohmmeter indicates no continuity. Hold TP sensor in this position and tighten mounting bolt.
- Reconnect TP sensor connector. Backprobe and connect DVOM (voltmeter) leads to TP sensor connector terminals No. 3 (sensor output) and No. 1 (sensor ground). Turn ignition on and go to next step.
- Check TP sensor output voltage. TP sensor output voltage should be 400-1000 millivolts. If TP sensor output voltage is not as specified, check TP sensor and related circuit. If TP sensor output voltage is as specified, remove feeler gauge and turn ignition off.
NOTE:
Includes closed throttle position switch adjustment.
